The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the buy and sell prices of two currencies.

In other words, the midway point between what the buyer is prepared to pay and what the seller is prepared to sell for. This rate is also known as the interbank rate.

For example, if a buyer is willing to pay £50,000 but the seller is prepared to sell for £60,000, the mid-market rate would be £55,000.
